CEFCU PRESENTS GAMEDAY AT THE
MEMORIAL HEALTH CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY LRS
EVENT FOR JUNIORS AGES 8 -18
Springfield—May 9, 2023—The Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS announced that GAMEDAY presented by CEFCU will return to the tournament week lineup on Tuesday, June 27th. This event, geared for kids ages 8 – 18, will make a fifth-year return to the schedule thanks to local sponsor CEFCU. The event is free to attend and participate in but limited to the first forty registered kids.
GAMEDAY’s mission is to positively impact young golfers by hosting events during the season across the PGA, LPGA, and Korn Ferry Tour. “We have enjoyed watching this event grow each year as we want to do our part to grow interest in the game of golf.” Said Executive Director, Kate Peters. Our partnership with CEFCU allows us to keep this unique experience for kids on our schedule.”
“Involvement in golf offers kids the chance to grow and develop many different skill sets; from balance and hand-eye coordination to self-confidence and self-esteem. We are proud to be able to make this opportunity available at no cost to area youth.” said Janá Stevens, VP of Marketing at CEFCU.
GAMEDAY, a program run by the golf division of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be held on Tuesday, July 27th from 3:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. and allows registered juniors and their parent or guardian to accompany 2 –3 professional golfers for 9-holes of their practice rounds. Juniors will have the opportunity to walk inside-the-ropes and interact with participating professionals as they prepare to compete in the Championship. At the end of play, the participants join Tour professionals for a question-and-answer session where life skills and values are discussed as well as autographs and photos.
“The purpose of GAMEDAY is to engage juniors in a dialogue about what principles are essential to success in life and golf, following dreams, dedication, goal setting, integrity and faith.” Said Jim Esary, Director of FCA Golf. “We are pleased to be able to bring this event, already popular at many other Tour stops back to Springfield.”
There is no cost to participate but parents/guardians must register their children in advance by visiting www.fcagolf.org/gameday. For more information, contact the tournament office at (217) 670-2910 or visit MemorialHealthChampionship.com.
